This old school 1979 vintage sneaker ad was by a brand called Fastrak for the Flex-26, Flex-26 Air-Flo, Flex-26W, Flex-26W Air-Flo shoes. Fastrak was owned by the Illinois footwear company and only stayed in business from around 1978 to 1979. Fastrak brand, we hardly knew ya!

Patrick 1977 vintage running shoe ad for the Ile de France

For today's post we've got an old school 1977 vintage ad by a brand called Patrick. Patrick is a sportswear company that was founded way back in 1892 and headquartered in Belgium. For a short window from the late 70s to early 80s they made a push within the American footwear market but weren't able to make it last. This brand is still very much alive though and their kicks can be found in Europe and in Japan. I've included a couple of photos of their modern day Patrick Marathon 'Made in Japan' runner so you can see what they've been up to lately.

Here's a vintage 1984 sneaker ad for the Mizuno MZ-84 featuring stabilizing plugs and tons of cutting edge tech for the time Back in the early 80s a lot of running shoe brands were testing out these plugs but it seems like the technology trend never really took off.

Like the Trax Kmart post from yesterday "The Winner" line was a sub-brand of Sears and were also meant to compete with the likes of Nike, Adidas and Puma. Hersey custom 1984 vintage running shoes ad ​

Here's a vintage sneaker ad for Hersey Custom which custom made every pair of shoes. These were highly rated shoes back in the day and it was a good deal that they'd replace the soles when they wore out. Hersey changed ownership in 2015 and is now owned by Stephen Keoseian. The brand is still in Massachusetts to this day and puts out custom sneakers under the Hersey brand name and also has a second brand named Victory Sportswear.

Brookfield Braun-Bilt vintage sneaker ad from 1979

Here's a cool old Big 5 Sporting Goods vintage ad featuring the Brookfield Braun-Bilt “Exxit” sneaker. Braun Bilt was a sporting goods and running shoe brand that was put out by a larger shoe brand called Brookfield Athletic Company Inc. and unfortunately they didn’t last very long. The life of this shoe brand ranged from 1978 to around 1981 and we couldn’t find any record of them lasting further into the 80s. It’s too bad because these were cool kicks and they were coming in hot with the "Astro-Crepe" herringbone sole too!
